Novel thermal management methods to improve the performance of the Li-ion batteries in high discharge current applications

Over the last few decades investigating performance of thermal management in high charge/discharge current has been taken into consideration many studies. In this study, a mature heat pipe-based air cooling system is built to control temperature lithium-ion (Li-ion) cell/module (184 A) discharging rate. The experimentally and numerically considered by lack natural convection, forced evaporative cooling. According experimental results, convection decrease average cell 6.2% 33.7% respectively. Moreover, several numerical simulations are solved COMSOL Multiphysics®, commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. simulation results validated against at level for convection.
